1. Call to Order and Quorum
The Chair called the meeting to order and confirmed a quorum of six. Mr. Tresidder, returning from excused absence, asked which items concerned Special Projects. The Chair said none had been listed. Mr. Tresidder said he would remain in case that changed.
2. Approval of the Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The minutes of Meeting 1 (October 4, 2026) were presented. Ms. Oduya asked that the entry on the place setting at the end of the table be amended to show who made the statement. The Chair said the minutes already show it. Ms. Oduya said she had meant the reason.
Motion by Mr. Abernathy-Loft to approve as written, seconded by Ms. Varga. Carried 6-0.
3. Business Arising: Action Items from Meeting 1
Facilities reported that the twelfth chair was removed from Room 6B in accordance with NF-GA-1996-031 and that written confirmation was filed. Ms. Oduya noted that the confirmation is dated October 3. Mr. Abernathy-Loft said the date reflects when the removal was planned. The matter was noted.
General Affairs reported no progress on direction under NF-GA-1995-208. Mr. Penhallow stated that he had expected none. The clerk reported that NF-GA-1996-044 (the eleventh chair of Room 6B) has not been located and that the search continues. Primary Operations reported that the napkin census under VP-2026-0001 is scheduled but not yet held, and that NF-PO-2026-001 is reserved. Ms. Oduya reported that the draft reply on Committee meals, to be filed as NF-GA-2026-088, is complete and awaits a signature. The Chair said he would read it.
ACTION: Chair to read the draft under NF-GA-2026-088.
4. Report of the Provisions Inquiry Desk: Fortune and Fruit
The Desk received six messages from four inquirers during the period of October 4 to October 11. One inquirer asked to have a fortune told. The Chair noted that the Organization does not tell fortunes. Ms. Oduya added that a forecast of any kind would require review by Investor Relations. Associate 0417 declined the request, and the inquirer sent a further message consisting of a currency symbol and two letters. The associate reached stage 1. Ms. Varga asked that the associate's tone be reviewed. The Chair said the tone was within The Standard. Ms. Varga said she had not said it was outside. The inquirer was issued a Sparkling Honey Sweetened Peach Tea Case and wrote back to say thank you. No member knew what to do with this and the item was noted.
A second inquirer asked where the fruit comes from. Mr. Penhallow said Primary Operations could supply a full answer. The Chair said the regions are restricted. Mr. Penhallow said he knew. He added that some of the fruit predates the present arrangement and he did not intend to say more. Mr. Tresidder asked whether the inquirer had been issued anything. The Chair said Freeze-Dried Red Dragon Fruit. Mr. Tresidder said that seemed like an answer.
5. Inquiry Concerning Prior Occupancy
A third inquirer asked who was here before the Organization. The Desk replied at stage 0 that the Organization holds the portfolio of an older body, and issued a Drinking Chocolate Mix. Mr. Penhallow moved that the inquiry be treated under NF-GA-1997-014. The Chair ruled that the instruction applies only to inquiries referring to the preceding year, and that the inquirer had referred to no year. Mr. Penhallow said that was how it began the last time.
Ms. Varga asked about the prior tenants of the sixth floor. Mr. Abernathy-Loft said Facilities holds the keys they left. The Chair asked that the discussion remain on the inquiry. The clerk advised that an occupancy schedule, NF-LE-1994-033 (Floors Five and Six, tenancy of record), exists and may be requested.
ACTION: Records Retrieval to confirm whether NF-LE-1994-033 is releasable.
6. Provisions Issued: Closed-Door Meeting Request
Nine provisions were issued during the period. The fourth inquirer requested provisions for a closed-door meeting. The Desk issued Everything Biscuit Crackers, Garlic Herb Cashews, a Caffeinated Sampler (box of sixteen tea bags) and a Dark & Salty Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Bar. Ms. Varga reported that this is the largest single issue on record and, given that the record is two weeks old, the most defensible.
Mr. Penhallow asked which meeting was meant. The Chair stated that the Committee does not take refreshments in session and that no meeting of the Committee is closed to the Committee. Ms. Oduya asked whether the Committee's own sessions were what the inquirer had in mind. The Chair said the inquirer had not said. Mr. Penhallow asked that the crackers be allocated by weight. Ms. Varga said that Standard Brand does not allocate by weight. Mr. Penhallow said it would begin to.
Motion by Ms. Varga that the matter be noted without action, seconded by Mr. Tresidder. Carried 5-1, Mr. Penhallow opposed.
7. New Business
Mr. Abernathy-Loft requested that Facilities be permitted to count the chairs in Room 6B at the close of each meeting. The Chair said that the count is under study. Mr. Abernathy-Loft asked by whom. The Chair said the study was ongoing.
Mr. Tresidder asked that Special Projects be given an item at the next meeting. The Chair said he would see what could be found.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:44 a.m.
Next meeting: Sunday, October 18, 2026, 9:00 a.m.
